Parents & Players,
Reminder…when the school is closed we also close the weight room. While we will be closed Monday for Martin Luther King Day we will be open on Wednesday evening from 6:15 to 7:15. We are expecting players to be lifting at least 2 hours per week. I realize some of you are lifting on your own and that is a good thing, but we would like you join your teammates on our lifting nights (Mondays & Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7:15). Partnering up with your teammates is a good way to ensure you stay with the program while strengthening the bonds between teammates.
Every year players ask me how they can earn a starting position, make the Conference Allstars or All State teams or play in college. The answer is the same for all the questions….get in the weight room during the off season. Here is a quote by Jerry Rice, Hall of Fame Wide Receiver, that captures his philosophy for preparing for the season.
